Historie

The Franco-Irish Chamber of Commerce and Industry has its origins in the France-Ireland Economic Association which was established in 1982, along the lines of a similar Association in Ireland, by key players in the French and Irish public and private sectors to promote and facilitate business between the two countries. In 1988 the ‘Association Economique France Irlande’ was transformed into the ‘Chambre de Commerce et d’Industrie Franco-Irlandaise’.

The following year the Ireland France Economic Association in Ireland followed suit and became the Ireland France Chamber of Commerce. Today, the two Chambers work very closely together, and each has a seat on the other’s Board.

The Irish Ambassador in France is the Honorary President of the Franco-Irish Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCIFIRL), while the French Ambassador in Ireland is the Patron of the Ireland France Chamber of Commerce (IFCC).
