Networking and Whiskey Tasting Together in an Irish ambience
Slàinte! was heard more often than “cheers” during the Anglo Apéro evening organised this time by the Irish, appropriately in the month of St Patrick’s month.
After two successful joint anglo Chambers events last year, organised first by the Franco British Chamber and then by Amcham, the CCIFIRL had the pleasure of welcoming members of the four chambers to a whiskey tasking kindly hosted by founder member RICARD in the elegant “Salon Paul Ricard”, on Monday 23rd March.
For the occasion the salon was appropriately decorated with whiskey barrels and Jameson banners and guests arrived to the toe-tapping sound of Irish music, and enticing pictures of the Emerald isle projected on state-of-the-art plasma screens. This proved to be a convivial foil for members to mix and mingle.
Michelle Bourton, whiskey expert and Jameson Ambassador, gave guests an interesting presentation on history of whiskey and how is it made, before inviting everybody to taste a selection of fine whiskeys from the four countries represented.
The evening concluded with a multi country quiz. Each Chamber posed one question and the 4 winners won magnificent books on Ireland generously provided by Tourism Ireland, a member of the CCIFIRL.
A great evening was had by all.
Now is the turn of the France-Canada Chamber to organize the next in this very successful series of after-hours networking events.
