Another Success

The second Business Forum organised by the Franco-Irish Chamber of Commerce and the GreenRoom was held at the Irish Cultural Center on 20th November. Despite transport disruptions caused by striking teachers, numerous members of both organisations filled the meeting room, all eager to learn more about the changing professional workplace.

After the welcome and introduction by the organizers and venue host, the presentations kicked off with Anne Marie Ronayane, Managing Partner at TERRA CONNECTA, an international consultancy firm specializing in recruiting international profiles. She adressed the challenges associated with international careers in the current economic climate, and gave participants some very worthwhile advice and useful tips . Then Margaret Doyle, a Sales Executive at IBM, spoke about « Real Challenges as an Expat within a Large Corporation », giving the audience a fascinating insight into how to proactively manage an international career. The evening concluded with a joint presentation by Yann LeGuellaff, Président de l’Association des Cadres Bretons (ACB), and Mathieu Gorge the President of the Young Ireland France Chamber of Commerce (Dublin sister chamber of the CCIFIRL) on their experiences of « Using Networking as a Career Enhancement Tool ». Each presentation was followed by an interesting Q & A session.

Afterwards, while sampling the Beaujolais Nouveau which had just arrived, participants were able to mingle and continue discussions with the speakers and organisers. The remainder of the evening was filled with the clinking of wine glasses and the exchange of business cards as the CCIFIRL and the GreenRoom successfully hosted another great informational networking event in the Irish College CCI.
