This workshop was the first of a series of business workshops. Held in the comfortable facilities of the Bedford Hotel, the participants had the chance to learn how to create synergies between both Anglo-Saxon and French cultures some debates and practical exercises, delivered by experts from Ireland & France.
The workshop was made up of 3 main parts, each of them held by a different stakeholder:
This workshop was designed to help managers to deal effectively with cultural differences in the workplace, especially French-Irish/English cultures. It demonstrated how empowerment helps Irish /English and French cultures complement each other. Participants appreciated the very hands-on session, led by Irish coach, Brian Ladden, and our French coach, Philippe Cosson (former president of our sister Chamber in Dublin, a French professional who lives in Ireland) together with Isabelle Duchemin from IDSO in Paris, who brought a stimulating perspective on doing business in France. Edouard Starke of 100 Ways concluded the morning with a evocative session on how to discover common aspects of all cultures and how to create genuine business relations.
All agreed that the session was really useful to Irish /Englishpeople working in France or French staff employed by Irish or English companies here and they enjoyed the way the highly experienced coaches showed the differences and demonstrated the potential of working in a multicultural business context, through humorous sketches, presentations and practical exercises & debriefs.
This very interesting programme was followed by a pleasant lunch during which participants and coaches were able to discuss the morning’s activities and to share experiences.
